On the Road Again
Jul 13, 2011
|The folks at Wheels RV worked really hard to get us finished up and back on the road.
They had completed their work and everything was done perfectly, so that we were ready to leave about 10:00 this morning.
Then the sky turned black and then the rain came down.
They really needed the rain but we were delayed in departing until the rain had pretty much ended.
We finally left at 11:35 and were “On the Road Again”.
It felt so good to be back traveling the highway with our condo on wheels following close behind.
After five hours and 15 minutes we arrived at North Star RV Park in Valley Center, Kansas.
This is a nice RV Park and we will use this as a base when we visit Wichita in the future.
We drove through some heavy rain before running into clear skies around Tulsa, Oklahoma today. The rest of the trip was easy running with bright sunshine and temperatures which reached 100 degrees in northern Oklahoma.
We quickly set up once we reached the RV Park here, and then called our friends, Dave & Judy, who live only eight miles away.
We met for dinner at “Applebees” and enjoyed great conversation with the food.
Dave & Judy followed us back to the RV Park and seemed to enjoy the tour of our new home.
It was good to see these good friends again but we missed seeing so many good friends who also live here. Just no time on this trip as we are nearly one month behind schedule as it is.
We do have some pictures to show you and I plan to get them posted tomorrow from Oakley, Kansas.
We certainly owe a big “Thank You” to Wheels RV and the good folks there, who spared no effort to get us back on the road.
Maybe they just wanted to get rid of us! Hmmm…..
We plan to be back on the road tomorrow for another five hour day as we travel north on I-135 to Salina and then head west on I-70 to Oakley, where we’ll spend the night at “High Plains Campground” before making the push to Mountaindale on Friday morning.
So, with tired bodies and some relaxation beginning to set in we will head off to dreamland.
Thanks to all of you good readers for sticking with us through these past tough times.
Now that we are on the road again, we’ll be writing about many more interesting subjects.
God bless you all.
Life is Good!
