This morning the children’s choir, with some by the adult choir, presented their Christmas program of some traditional and some new music. It was good.
This afternoon I rode with Bob and Virginia Staats to the Austin Saengerrunde for the annual Weihnachtskonzert (Christmas concert). We met Milton and Inge Rider and one of their neighbors there. Several songs each were done by the Damenchor (women’s choir), the Männerchor (men’s choir), The Handglockenchor (hand bell choir) and the Gemischter Chor (mixed choir). At the end of the program there was a Gemeinschaftsingen (sing-along). Some of the songs were new to me but I could understand most of the lyrics (by reading the text printed on the back of the program). After the program we had some delicious goodies and punch.
Afterwards I went with Bob and Virginia to the Riders’ house for a German dinner. In her usual style, Inge made enough to feed a small army. I was so stuffed, I could hardly waddle away from the table.
