Today we drove to College Station, where we checked out Watercrest at Bryan, an “active adult living” center which Lullene had heard about. We had a tour of the facilities and then were treated to a free lunch outdoors on the patio. We enjoyed burgers, vegetable side dishes and brownies.
Then we drove to the country house outside Bryan where she and her husband had lived for a number of years. Some of her grandchildren now own it. They are in process of refurbishing it, so everything is in a mess. They aren’t living in it now.
Back in Huntsville, we had dinner at The Homestead. The buildings were moved here from their original locations and now serve as a very interesting restaurant. The chef had been a sous-chef in Dallas. Needless to say, the food was delicious.
