“The Coronation of the Virgin” by Giovanni Battista della Cerva, c. 1541,...

Today Inge, Virginia, Dianne and I attended the last Bach cantata of the year at the Blanton Museum of Art. It was “Ach wie flüchtig, ach wie nichtig / BWV 26” (Ah, how fleeting, ah, how insignificant”). Since it is a short work, Dr. James Morrow, the Artistic Director, discussed portions of each of the movements and had the singers and musicians demonstrate them. It was very interesting. The featured painting was “The Coronation of the Virgin” by Giovanni Battista della Cerva, c. 1541, oil on wood panel.

After the program we had lunch at the Blanton Café.
