|After sleeping poorly last night we were not in a hurry to get started this morning.
We had a nice evening with friends, Dave & Judy, last night, but I ate too much and suffered heartburn. Bummer!
We finally left Blasi campground at 8:40 AM and arrived at Deer Creek RV Park just a couple of minutes before 12 noon.
The fog was thick when we left Wichita, making the stress level go up a bit. We drove in some fog for most of the trip today.
Here in Topeka, the solid overcast with cool temperatures remained until mid-afternoon..
Marilyn had hoped to soak up some sunshine while catching up on laundry, but that hasn’t happened.
One thing which did happen was that after getting all set up, she opened the fridge and a bottle of gourmet olives fell out onto the floor. No, it didn’t break, but the lid came off and we had a combination of olives and olive oil on the floor.
Not to worry! Marilyn had things ship shape in short order and we relaxed to watch some of the Master’s Golf Tourney.
There is a new BBQ place right next door to the RV Park and we will try that before we leave.
Maybe John & Lori, Sam & Rhonda will come out to visit that restaurant with us.
So, for now we are settled in and taking care of some chores.
The weather forecast says rain & storms on Sunday, both here and in Hannibal, so we may wait until Monday to make that final run, to see our kids and grandkids.
That was the day we planned to be in Hannibal but we hoped to be able to surprise Jennifer by sneaking in there on Sunday, and be all set up by the time she gets off work on Sunday evening.
We’ll see how things go. We are retired so we’ll accept whatever comes along.
We’ve had a good journey from the Rio Grande Valley, visiting with friends all along the way.
Life is Good!
