We are staying for a while at my parent's house in Scio Oregon. It is near my son Chris's family and the grand kids, plus an hour from one brother, and a couple hours from my other brother. While here we do enjoy going from drives in the area as well as getting out and geocaching. The Willamette Valley has been talked about since just before the Covered Wagon trails as fertile farmland. There are many wineries here and hazel nut trees. Many crops are grown in this are for seed including pumpkins, sunflowers, grass and other grains.

we have daily visitors from at least three groups of turkeys. We now also get a couple of white ducks. I am not sure where they came from, but maybe a neighbor. I have a feeder up and see Black Capped Chickadees, Chestnut Backed Chickadees, Oregon Juncos, Golden Crowned Sparrows, Fox Sparrows, White crowned sparrows, Towhees, and an occasional downy woodpecker. I love being in a place to be able to just settle in and watch. Now where did that cup of tea go?
