On the Road to OKC
Apr 5, 2011
|Last evening while we were in Perrin, Texas, we were visited by good friends, Mike & Sandy, who drove out from their home in Hurst, Texas, near Ft Worth.
Mike and I have much in common and the four of us enjoy the company of one another whenever we get a chance to be together.
Mike & Sandy drove us to a very good Mexican restaurant in Jacksboro and we spent the remainder of the evening enjoying some mighty fine food, great conversation and pretty much constant laughter.
We lingered long after our meal, with the blessing of the waitress, and continued the animated conversation, until we all realized that it was time to go.
Back at our RV, our friends came in for awhile. It was so hard to say “so long” to these good folks, but we know we’ll see them again.
Mike will retire from the FAA one of these days and we’ll spend some time having good conversation around a campfire somewhere.
Today we moved our rolling home from Perrin, TX to Oklahoma City, OK.
When we awoke it was only 31 degrees outside. Man, compared to the 100 plus in the valley, that is COLD!
We did see a herd of buffalo today, not long after leaving Mitchell RV Park in Perrin. That is a beautiful sight to see.
It took exactly four hours to make the trip, but we are glad to be all set up here at Twin Fountains RV Park. We have time to relax this afternoon.
Marilyn walked around taking pictures while I finished setting up the RV and we now have photos to share with you.
She put some tilapia out to thaw so we’ll have a nice dinner tonight and be ready to continue our journey tomorrow morning.
We continue to get closer and closer to those grandkids!
Life is Good!
