This is a quick update to let everyone know we have safely arrived in Verdi, Nevada. We said our goodbyes to new friends from Waldport on Wednesday, we had a nice lunch together and left Waldport early Thursday morning. One of the wonderful pleasures of traveling in our motorhome is making new friends everywhere we go. When we met Gene and Sue we felt like we had known them for years instead of days. We hope our paths meet again very soon.
We drove to Canyonville our first travel day, it was about 200 miles. We had a beautiful pull-through site and enjoyed their special seafood buffet, it was only $10 each because it was senior day. We got ready to leave Canyonville early Friday morning and our motorhome had “check transmission” warning and then it would not start. Yikes!
We called the closest Allison transmission dealer in Medford for help, they came and reset the computer in our coach. The new wiring from our new Honda didn’t match with the wiring in our motorhome, it caused all kinds of problems. He was able to get it fixed and us on the road again, at the high cost of $1,000. Did I say Yikes? Anyway, we are thankful it was not our transmission or engine, just the computer that works everything.
After Canyonville, we drove another 300 miles to Susanville, California. We didn’t even unhook the car, we left early the next morning and drove another 90 miles to Verdi. We are happy to be in the beautiful mountains of Verdi. The trees are just beginning to change, I managed to grab a few colorful ones on the way. We have a nice site with lots of trees and will be setting up the bird feeders soon. This place is loaded with songbirds, I can’t wait to start feeding them. We will be doing a lot of exploring in the area of Lake Tahoe and much more, check back later for more from Nevada.
