The Inaugural Voyage - Winter 2008 travel blog

our site

Our original plan after our idyllic sojourn in the Keys was to stop in Ft. Lauderdale, a town we've grown to love after boarding many cruise ships there. Sadly, the campgrounds in southern Florida are still all booked up until the end of February so we kept calling farther north until we found a welcome "yes" in Ft. Pierce. It was a good day to do a bit of driving, since it poured much of the route. The locals are so happy so have some rain and we will be so much happier as soon as it stops again. The reviews we've read of the campground here are all raves, but we're not sure why we want to be here otherwise. This many end up being a getting stuff done stop - hair cuts, bill paying, etc. But the beaches are just a few miles away, so if the sun comes out.....
