Missoula KOA campsite

We pulled into the Missoula KOA just after 2:00pm this afternoon. This is one of the nicest RV Parks we have stayed in on our trip - too bad we are only going to be here for one night! Our campsite is a pull-thru with shade trees on both sides which is great because it's 33C right now. We are only a short walk from a very nice swimming pool that I tried out right after we arrived.

The trip from Yellowstone Park to Missoula was uneventful except for us wondering about the road from Yellowstone north to I-90. Conservatively, we counted between 75-100 crosses on the side of the hiway indicating deaths from traffic accidents. It was unreal - almost a cross on every curve! The road was 2 lanes with oncoming traffic, it had a lot of curves but wasn't going through mountains or anything. Yet, in only 100 or so miles there were all these traffic fatalaties.

Missoula is probably Paulette's favourite city to shop in of the places we have been to in the U.S. And, as it turns out, the KOA we are staying at is right behind 2 or her favourite stores - Ross' and TJ Max. They were so close that she was able to walk to them this afternoon.

After dinner, I dropped Paulette off at another favourite spot - the South Gate Mall. I went back to the campsite with Mo and Molly and took them for a long walk. We went back to get Paulette after a couple of hours and headed back to the campsite.

Tomorrow, our plan is to leave early again and try to get as far as Ellensburg, WA. It's about a 5 1/2 hour drive which is a little more than I've been doing but it shouldn't be a problem. That will leave us with only a 3 hour drive to the border on Sunday morning when, hopefully, neither the border nor the B.C. Ferries will be too busy.
