Since we went so much farther yesterday, today’s trip was shorter than I had scheduled. Our goal was the Bruneau Sand Dunes south of Mountain Home, Idaho. The weather has gotten considerably warmer so we have the air conditioner running again. The dunes are composed of volcanic sand. There are 2 main dunes and some sand spread around the area. One of the dunes is 45o feet tall, the tallest single structure dune in the US. ( I checked with Google on this. The Great Sand Dunes in Colorado are higher at 700 feet, but this is the tallest single structure.)
Nice little park with wide level spaces. There were very few people here, which we like. But there was some wind. And not much to interest the kitty.
