We are at Home in the Valley
Nov 14, 2010
|We had a long way to go today, and had to drive through the city of Houston as well.
Those facts spurred us to get up early and we did.
We pulled out of Gulf Shores RV Park right at 7:00 AM, drove through Houston in the early Sunday morning traffic, and pulled into Llano Grande Resort at 2:20 this afternoon. We had driven straight through, except for one stop, in Victoria, Texas, for food and fuel.
By 4:00 PM we were all set up and comfortable enough to sit outdoors with a cold drink, enjoying the 76 degree weather.
Jan, our wonderful neighbor, walked over to share hugs with us when we pulled in to the Site next to her house.
Later, after we were set up, Jan joined us, sitting on our patio and visiting.
It is so nice to have our little rolling home looking as if it is a real home again.
It seems to us that we have been in “moving” mode ever since we left Colorado.
We spent some time back in Hannibal but went to Indiana for a week, went on a two week cruise, made a quick trip to Sioux Falls, SD, and then traveled for two weeks to get here.
Believe me when I say that we are very happy to be staying put, here in the RGV, until April 1st.
It does seem strange not to see our other RV friends here.
Of course, Jan is here, along with Dale & Linda, and we will soon see Ted & Sue.
Other friends are in Parks nearby, so we certainly will not lack for company.
One thing we know for sure is that we are happy to be here.
Oh yes………………..Life is Good!
