Today Dianne Bennett and I were the only ones in our group who could attend the Bach Cantata – actually a short mass -- at the Blanton Museum of Art. We missed those who could not go with us. The music was the very beautiful “Missa Brevis in F Major BWV 233” (Short Mass). It was conducted by Dr. James Morrow, Artistic Director.
The featured work of art today was “The Visitation” by Camillo Procaccini, c. 1595, oil on canvas. It is a large piece that was originally part of a trilogy.
Instead of having lunch at the Blanton Café as we usually do, we decided to eat at the Dong Nai Vietnamese restaurant. I tried the tofu and mushrooms with fried rice and enjoyed it. It’s one that I’ll have again.
