This morning after exercise class I went to the Victory walk-in clinic to have the PA look at my sore toe. It has been bothering me for about a month or longer. I thought it was an ingrown nail and had tried several times to dig it out. I had decided that it might be a bone spur. The PA said that it is indeed an ingrown nail. He tried to push a small wad of cotton under it but I had cut it too short for that. I asked him about just removing the nail and, after his description of the process, decided that this might not be such a good option! He advised me against it and told me to let the nail grow out and then cut it straight across. He liked my rigged up protective cover for the toe: foam tube with tape around the end and the middle. At least I had done something right.
