Most of the afternoon was spent in Canyonlands National Park. I stopped at the Visitor Center, where I ate a quick lunch before heading out for the day's adventures. I took several short hikes. Such fantastic rock formations! One could easily spend a much longer time and still not see it all. There are many little parking spots along the roads but sometimes there was something I just had to photograph, so I'd just stop in the road. Once a ranger on a bicycle caught me in the act and admonished me to move on.
From Canyonlands I drove on to Moab to spend the night. I had a little mishap that caused me a bit of stress. I didn't see the RV park until I was just past the entrance, so I drove on down the street to find a place to turn around. In process of making my turn, I hit a rough place but didn't think too much about it at the time, except that it annoyed me. When I got to the RV park and was hooking up to the utilities, I discovered that my sewer hose carrier was missing from beneath my rear bumper! Suddenly it dawned on me that it probably had been knocked off when I had made that turn. So I trudged the quarter mile or so back to the turn-around spot. Sure enough, there was my sewer carrier. It was damaged beyond redemption but at least I still had my sewer hose. Ah, life's little lessons can come at the most unexpected times.
