Finally! New Orleans!
Nov 3, 2010
|After resting all day yesterday we were awake early again this morning.
We were anxious to get started and began the preparation to leave as soon as it was light enough to see outdoors.
We left Frog Hollow right at 8:00 AM and pulled in to Bayou Segnette at 1:30 PM.
We were low on fuel when we arrived and if I had it to do over again, I would stop at the “Love’s” fuel stop just north of the Louisiana border in Mississippi on I-55. There was not another place anywhere that we could see far enough ahead of time to exit, and where the RV would fit.
We found our Site, #50, and parked next to Rick & Sherry, who are in Site #48.
They had prepared some lunch for us and that was much appreciated. Thank you dear friends.
Once we were all set up, Rick & Sherry joined Marilyn & I for a walk down the street to see Roger & Joyce, who arrived yesterday.
Joyce wasn’t feeling well but we had a nice visit with Roger. We all hope Joyce is better tomorrow because we have a lot of things planned.
Next we walked down the street in the opposite direction to see Heinz & Irene. Rick & Sherry joined Marilyn & me at Heinz & Irene’s place for a cold drink and snacks.
The get-together ended in time for us to get some dinner and return in time to watch “Survivor”.
It has been a good day and we look forward to a good night of sleep.
Larry & Doris, and Don & Sharon will be here tomorrow around noon.
As they say in N’Awlins, “Let the good times roll!”
Life is Good!
P.S. My cousin’s daughter is stable but will remain in the induced coma for about a week longer. Please keep the prayers coming for her and for the family. Thank all of you so much!
