Before Adam and Laura left Texas, Laura wanted to go to the Sixth Floor Museum in Dallas which has loads of exhibits about JFK's assassination. Jeff and I had actually been talking about going there since we too had never seen it. It's funny that you can live very close to a major tourist attraction and never see it. It takes someone from out of town to put you there.
Anyway, we really enjoyed the museum. We couldn't take pictures of the inside, but the exhibits are very good. I remember so well the day it happened. I was in the 9th grade and just coming out of the lunchroom when a couple of guys told my friends and I that Kennedy had been shot. I couldn't believe it. We had just listened to his speech that morning at the Texas Hotel while we were in English class. This guys were a couple of goofs, so I thought they were just making a really bad joke. Unfortunately, it was true.
Here is a picture from the infamous "grassy knoll" looking up at the window on the 6th floor where the deed took place.

Later that day, Laura got the hiccoughs and this is her remedy.

On the Sunday after Christmas, we brought Madeleine home with us as we had tickets to the theatre. Madeleine had never seen "Annie," and we decided to remedy that. We got all tarted up (as our British neighbor Joan used to say,) and totally enjoyed the performance. Here's the proud Grandma with the beautiful young lady.
