This afternoon I visited with Dr. Silberberg at Austin Pain Associates to discuss my options for treating my low back pain. These included pain-killer drugs, of course, which I declined. He can also do the nerve cauterization (like I had about a year ago) or a series of three steroid injections (like I had in 2009). Neither of these were very helpful; but I decided to try the steroids again in hopes of a better result this time. I really don’t have any pleasant options. It’s very discouraging.
My first injection is scheduled for May 6, with a follow-up visit with his physician assistant on May 15.
