Sunday morning we headed down the mountain to Aurora to spend a few days in the city. Our oldest daughter is 43 this year. I still have a difficult time adjusting to the fact that we have children in their 40's. I prepared her special dinner and we had cake and ice cream on Monday to celebrate. Then we girls went shopping for her gift. She chose new jeans. It was a good day.
Our grandaughter, Zoe, is very proficient at playing the violin. She gives us a private concert every time we visit. Since we don't listen to her every day, we are able to see the improvement she has made. She is actually very good. She is awaiting news of her acceptance (or rejection) to the Denver School of Art, a high school that concentrates on students in the areas of music, art, and drama. She had to go through an extensive interview and audition to be considered. Hopefully we will know the results next week.
Our son-in-law, Mike, received a clear report on his cancer screening and an additional PET scan on his liver. We are all relieved, but Mike, most of all.
I had a great massage and a short appointment with my nutritionist on Tuesday. We were surprised by our good friend, Loma, who flew into Denver for a few hours. We managed to squeeze in a half hour visit before she left.
Wednesday we grocery shopped and headed home. We are missing Sophie and the wide open spaces with a lot fewer people :-)
