Ian and Margaret's RV Adventures travel blog

We cut our stay in Denali short because the weather didn't look to improve enough for us to take a chance on another bus tour into the Park to see things that weren't visible on the last trip. We've moved to Fairbanks a bit early and are staying at the River's Edge RV Park, a nice park associated with a larger resort that has charming small cabins. One of the nicest places we've seen in Alaska in many ways.

No pictures to post from here as we haven't really done anything yet! Margaret's cold/bronchitis or whatever has lingered and, as of this writing, has progressed to laryngitis (you can imagine how hard THAT is!), so we've been taking it easy. We will move to our originally scheduled campground in North Pole on Tuesday, but have decided to let Brian and Maryann go on the trip northward to the Arctic Circle and beyond to Prudhoe Bay without us. Margaret doesn't really want to travel that much right now and we're concerned about the weather; although current forecasts are for clear weather up there during the time we'd be going, we don't have a lot of faith in the forecasts and, given the pattern of this summer, figure it's more likely to be colder and wetter than predicted! So we'll find some more things to do around Fairbanks -- there are lots of things here that look interesting -- and maybe take a day to go up to Chena Hot Springs.

More later as we see what unfolds.
