On the road again, Lake Mead in front of us & to...

Love the various cloud formations about today :)

As you can see, the wind has the flags standing at attention...

Fairly light traffic today...

A zoomed in, taken at 55 MPH shot of the Colorado River...

We're coming up on a very unique rocky area, one of my...

Aren't these formations cool? Looks like someone spent alot of time standing...

As you can see, it's still nice & green...

A bit blurry at 55 MPH, but three different plants in one...

Wonder if & when the rock on the left/top is coming down???

All set up, time for dinner!

Chicken taco soup with salad & great friends! Life is good :)

Well, as usual I am running behind with posting. So just to catch up a bit I'm going to post out of chronological order for a few days.

We arrived in Phoenix a couple of days ago. We got out of Vegas a few days later than planned as we had too many errands to run & 'things' to do before leaving. I asked Larry how that is even possible when you have 3 months to schedule 'things' so you don't have to do them all at once! His answer was 'we are retired & don't have a time schedule'. All righty then, whatever!

Anyway, we now have two new front tires, new front brakes & had the oil changed in the truck as well. Did you know that Ford diesel trucks take 15 qts of oil? Wow! We run 10 ply tires on the truck so they last quite awhile & the old tires still had quite a bit of tread on them but Larry said they were weather checked. So, off they came. Don't want to push our luck while pulling our home around the country.

The day of our departure the wind was blowing pretty hard. We considered postponing yet another day but ultimately decided it would be okay after learning that the bridge would in fact be open over Hoover Dam. You don't actually cross the dam anymore but high winds have been known to tip over high profile rigs so the highway patrol doesn't take any chances. It worked out fine & once we got off the I-40 onto 93 it was fine. We arrived in the Phoenix area about 3:30pm & got set up at Stan & Phyllis's pretty quickly.

We'll be spending a few days with them & then we're moving over to Goodyear to visit friends John & Joyce for a couple of days. While here, we're getting some maintenance done on the 5'er at Southwest RV in Glendale. Family owned & operated, they do a great job, so if you get in the area with any rv needs, please look them up!

Stan & Phyllis have a beautiful home & the BEST backyard ever! It's like being in a 5 star hotel with a beautiful pool, wonderful seating areas & sensational decorating. Wish you could see it! We're enjoying out time together for sure. Tomorrow Phyllis & I are going to the Mesa Marketplace, a fun, huge swap meet! The guys are staying home & have a fun 'guy thing' planned...hint, hint, hint!

Well, thanks for checking in & I'll post the 2nd part of our recent trip to the museum next time. Have a wonderful day everyone!
