I can’t believe that this year is nearly gone! I’ve been really busy most of the time, which is probably why the time has seemed to pass so quickly.
This morning I shipped my HP notebook to Hewlett Packard for repair. They had sent me a special box, which I received yesterday. I hope they will do a good job of the repair. Even better would be for them to refund my money or send me a new laptop with a metal case. I won’t be holding my breath, however. I’m just glad that it is still under manufacturer’s warranty. Otherwise, I wouldn’t even bother to have it repaired.
Today I decided to try something: get the City of Austin to make a ruling that could help alleviate the terrible traffic congestion on the northbound I-35 service road. The section between Slaughter Lane and William Cannon is under construction and, most of the time, it is narrowed down to one lane. It often takes 30 minutes or more to go this one-mile stretch! This is the only way we can get into Lone Star RV Resort. I went online to the City’s Web site and found a page where citizens can request a service. I selected the “Traffic Calming” category. I explained that allowing residents of Lone Star RV Resort to use the rear entrance during the construction period would ease the traffic congestion. As it now stands, the City allows the use of that entrance only for emergencies. I hope someone will listen and take this simple action.
