2015/16. ADVENTURE BEFORE DEMENTIA - End August 2015 - travel blog

Life's a beach!

Watching the ships sail in.

After a late lazy breakfast with our friends.

In the pink.

Why they're called stilts.

Busy baby flamingos, grey until they're older and eaten more pink crustaceans

Tuesday/Wed 15/16th Sept

At Eugene & Dee's. Lovely couple days spent around the area in the mornings, relaxing in the sun and in the pool for me afternoons. Just a shame we have to keep Blue in the motorhome, dogs aren't allowed in the pool area - he'd be in the water straight away - but it is cooler in the afternoons inside, after 4ish, before that it's like being inside a big tin can in the desert when we have no electric to provide air con. Went to Lo Pagan again, this time the water was a really deep pink, and young flamingos were busy feeding. Lots of other birds including black winged stilts and avocets really close by which was good to see. We all had cuppies in a cafe by the marina then back to the tapas bar near their village for a light lunch.

Wed evening we had a bbq on the roof terrace. We've again had a lovely time here, it's a gorgeous place and the apartment is so beautiful, the grounds are kept exceptionally neat and tidy, pools are cleaned daily, hardly anyone here so it's really peaceful, but shops, towns and beaches are all only a short drive away.

It's Thurs morning, my head is too heavy for my body - I genuinely thought I would NEVER again say never again but I am. We had such a great time and Eugenes's G&T's are to blame, must've been H U G E N E!! lol....

Today we leave, hopefully this morning when Roy is fit to drive, (he has a self tester kit-you have to have them in France, very useful actually). We want to get to Almeria at least as we have to be in Manilva for Friday evening.
