We spent the day sightseeing around Albuquerque. With Joe and Kelli as our tour guides we started off having breakfast at the Frontier Restaurant. It was delicious with huge portions. Each room was decorated with Native American rugs and southwestern paintings. Next we went to Old Town Albuquerque to explore the shops. There are plenty of galleries with jewelry, pottery and art as well as the usual tourist shops.

We went to Coronado State Monument in the afternoon to see the reconstructed ruins of an ancient village. The walls of one of the buildings in the village had been covered with a mural. The pictures from the mural were displayed in a gallery at the museum. The murals had been removed from the walls in the 1930's. We really enjoyed that.

We went to Cervantes for a wonderful New Mexican dinner. YUM! We are really eating well while we are here!
