|HAPPY TURKEY DAY!!!
We have had a busy week here – it seems as if I have been going non-stop.
Monday – we made a trip to Parker for groceries. We stopped at the Thrift Store to see if they had any serving platters – the only one they had was $6 and was made of wood. I wasn’t sure I could get it clean – so I will just use the tray I have.
Then we went to a couple of lumber stores trying to find ¼ inch thick wood to make Christmas Ornaments for the Granddaughters. No could find except in 4 ft. X 8 ft. sheets. We don’t need that much.
Stopped at Wally world and found what we were looking for in the craft dept. So Ron can cut them out and I can paint them. I’ll post after Christmas so you can see how they turned out.
Then we went to Safeway and spent a bundle. We were able to pack one cart as we shopped but needed two after we checked out. I was so tired I almost moaned on the way home. I hate shopping!!!
Tuesday we had our SKP luncheon and then an appointment at 1 pm with a couple who wanted to look at our little RV. AND THEY BOUGHT IT!!! She is so excited about it and I am so happy it is sold. It was a win-win situation.
Wednesday morning I got up early and baked some pumpkin bread. I had baked a couple of meat loafs from the freezer before.
Then we had park clean up day. Every Wednesday we get together and clean some of the common areas of the park. On Wed. Ron and I worked on the clubhouse. I think it will be good. All of the construction debris is swept up and the water is turned on. DH even found the toilet seat to put on the WC so that is a good thing. We have some old splintery plywood with legs on it that we can use for tables. I have some sheets in the washer that I can put over that. It beats eating on one's lap in the wind so I think we will have a nice time. We found a counter with out a top and put some boards on it to serve as a buffet. Everyone will bring their own camp chair.
Then we loaded up the meat loaf, some bread and condiments, and the pumpkin bread and headed for Eagle Eye and the Camp in the desert with my brother. We had a great afternoon, ate all the sandwiches and sat around the fire to keep warm. It was nice and sunny on our side of the mountain but cloudy and cold on theirs. We didn’t get home until after dark.
Today, Thanksgiving, we are having a potluck in the clubhouse. Walter donated the turkey but I have to cook it. I am bringing gravy, dressing, and cranberries. The rest of the people are bringing the rest of the sides. I think we will have a great day.
So that is the way our week has gone. Life is good. Enjoy!!
