Thanks to my favorite hobby of letterboxing, I learned about a big lodge with cabins, water falls, restaurant, and gift stores. It offers tennis, horseback riding, miniature golf, nature trails, and more. In case you want the vacation with class, it's called Big Cedar Lodge and is about 10 miles south of Branson.

After seeing that place, I went on to Dogwood Canyon Nature Park and spent a couple of hours bike riding! I was skeptical about riding, thinking it would be full of hills, but it wasn't bad at all. This park has an asphalt trail for walking or riding that is also shared by park trams except when it is necessary to cross over water. The tram goes through the streams, but the rest of us go over bridges. It is a beautiful park with a 6 mile trail. If I had gone on the tram with lots of other people, I could have gone further into their area where bison, elk, and Texas longhorns roam freely. It's all good, though.

I was amazed to find out that they recently discovered artifacts and even human remains of inhabitants from 6000 B.C.! That predates any other human discoveries, from what I can remember of other places in the USA! They claim the tests are good - radiocarbon dating.
