Valentine, NE - Riverside Campground - Site 3

Valentine, NE - Riverside Campground - Site 3, another view

Our trip to Valentine, NE was a nice easy trip over 236 miles. The first 30 or so miles was through Custer State Park and Wind Cave National Park. We saw a lot of wildlife on that section. More Pronghorn Antelope, Mule and Whitetail deer, turkeys, Bison and probably some I have forgot. The rest of the trip was coming out of the Black Hills and into the prairies - lots of hay and cattle. We are taking US20 to get off the interstate and see some of the small towns which occur about every 8 or 9 miles.

We are staying at Riverside Campground which is just a little south of Valentine on the Niobrara River. It is a real nice, quiet campground and we have full hookups, great WiFi and good cell reception. I was also able to pick a site where I had access to the satellite. Most of the sites are much nicer and under the trees - very shady.

Tomorrow night we plan to be in Sioux City, NE, about 240 miles away.
