We woke at 6:45 a.m. to a chilly 44 degrees outside, however it was a balmy 67 degrees inside the boat because we are lucky enough to be plugged in and can run our heaters. We were anxious to be on our way early today but we were fogged in. By 9 a.m. the fog lifted and we were able to get underway. We only have 10 locks left in the Erie Canal system and 5 of them are along one stretch close together. By 3 p.m. we were through the last lock at Waterford and stopped for the night at the Welcome Centre.

The next morning I went for a walk around the streets of Waterford and then we took a taxi to the West Marine Store to pick up the cable for our chartplotter than we had ordered back in Peterborough. We shopped for a few things in Walmart, returned to the boat, had some chili for lunch and got underway by early afternoon.
