Our RV trip around Atlantic Canada 2009 travel blog

Bouctouche is a little pretty French town with little market stalls (wooden huts) down the roadside.

The Irving centre is not in Bouctouche at all but some 10km up the road in another little village. We park up and walk onto the sands. There is a board walk which goes the length of the spit. We decide to go down to the beach first. As we look amongst the rocks we find crabs. The rock is a sandstone type which breaks into slate like peices and snaps when you walk on it. Under one piece we find five small crabs and one large crab. The biggest crab we find is five inches across.

We drive up to Kouchibouruac National Parc to look at the lagoons. All the campsites around this area are full. We eventually find a campsite on the edge of Miramichi. Here we play in the pool with some other children. Whilst playing Marco Polo the girl that is chasing climbed out of the pool and chipped her tooth on the railings. She was upset at first but returned to smiles as she continued to play with Flynn.
