Meet "Jaws"

We have been at our daughter's home house sitting and taking care of their animals while she is out of town. Her husband is working out of town this week also. It has been raining and it's cold. We have been on "baby watch" with two of their horses due to deliver next week. Yesterday morning, PD started labor. After a long and exhausting ordeal, the vet arrived to sedate the mom and pulled the baby which was not only breach, but back feet first. She was dead, of course. But our prayers were answered and the mom was saved. She could have ruptured the aorta or the baby could have punctured internal organs etc. with such a long and hard labor. It was a sad and terrifying (for me and PD) morning. PD seems fine now and is eating and drinking and getting around just fine. We are only hoping that the second mom waits until Sunny and Brian are home next week.

Today, we have dentist appointments and need to get our fifth wheel to the dealer in Abilene for some warranty work. The roads were too wet to pull it yesterday, but the sun is supposed to be out and the temps in the 60's today, so Wes will take it to the dealer after his appointment this morning.

We are ready for a boring and quiet day. Hopefully tomorrow :-)
