We had a craving for some fresh seafood today. We decided to check online and see what was available in the area. We chose the "3 Crabs Restaurant" and are very happy we did. What we got was some great food and a wonderful surprise.
The restaurant is located in Dungeness, WA. It has an incredible view of the Dungeness Spit. The Dungeness Spit is a 5.5-mile long sand spit jutting out from the northern edge of the Olympic Peninsula into the Strait of Juan de Fuca. It is also a National Wildlife Refuge and the home of the Dungeness Lighthouse. We could see the lighthouse in the distance and managed to zoom in a couple of okay pictures.
The only way to see this one properly is to take a five mile hike to it, or a boat. If my back would allow, this is one hike I would definitely take. The area is loaded with migrating birds. We watched thousands of them flying in while we dined on delicious crab cakes. What a bonus!
We are finding this beautiful area is loaded with awesome surprises. We are going to love our time in Sequim.
