Today was one of those WOWSER days you never forget. We drove about 90 miles through the Badlands National Park. The charge is only $15 a car, but we got in free with Jerry's golden age pass.
We drove the 32 mile Badlands Loop Road, a South Dakota Scenic Byway, plus we added another 50 plus mile loop on the Sage Creek Rim Road. This one takes you to Roberts Prairie Dog Town. :-) The town is a sign in the field where hundreds of Prairie Dogs live. We saw so many we quit counting. They are the coolest animals, they were constantly chattering and so much fun to watch.
We also spotted a ton of buffalo, one Bighorn Sheep, and a herd of some type of Elk. We are not sure what they are, but they were cool to watch too. (See photo)
It was an amazing day. I took over 500 pictures, I am still trying to decide which ones to add. I am adding the critter pictures first and will be adding more of the beautiful scenes later. Our Sprint Card is really slow here. Please check back later for more photos.
