This morning I was up early because I had a long drive ahead of me. On the way out of town I stopped at a Discount Tire store to have my tires checked and aired up. I had them all inflated to 75 pounds; I prefer a firm ride. They didn't charge me for this service. While I was waiting, I talked with a man who knows a lot about Lazy Daze motorhomes. He has been keeping up to date on them because he wants to get one when he retires in ten years. I have a feeling that he won't wait that long to buy one! He gave me his business card and asked me to call him if I should decide to sell mine.
By about 8:15, I was on my way. I stopped in Houston at an Exxon station that had Speedpass but, to my chagrin, they didn't give me a discount. Not all Speedpass stations do but, without the discount, there really isn't much advantage to using it. I stopped again in Vidor (near Beaumont) to get a hamburger for lunch.
Along the way in Louisiana I saw a billboard saying, "Judgment day will happen on May 21, 2011". When will the kooks get the message that no one knows when it will happen?
By the time I had arrived at the campground, it was a little after 3:00. I had estimated about seven hours for the trip.
Tonight we had a finger-food potluck.
