Blackberry Cafe where we had great burgers

We saw a lot of deer in the area

Last one!

Today we visited one of the most beautiful beaches in the area called Salt Creek Recreation Area. It is about 15 miles west of Port Angeles, Washington near the tiny town of Joyce. The park is located on what once was Camp Hayden, a World War II military camp. It has a number of camping spots located right on the water with incredible views.

Tongue Point is an area of the Salt Creek Recreation Area. The point is a rock out cropping that extends into the Strait of Juan de Fuca. This outcropping is visible during low tide. At low tide it is accessible on foot, you can observe many species of marine life, such as, mussels, clams, sea stars, and kelp.

It was high tide when we visited, but we will definitely go back again at low tide. After our visit we checked out the tiny town of Joyce and had great burgers at the Blackberry Cafe. Another great day in Washington.
