|Larry's suffering with a cold so be hung out at home to rest but I went rock hunting with Brad & Bonnie today. Our goal was to find fluorite but we were willing to settle for anything unique & colorful. The weather was perfect & the scenery lovely. Plenty of great rocks too! We covered alot of ground & were up & down hills frequently.
I had a little slip & almost tumbled down the side of a steep hill but fortunately Brad was able to grab my arm & hang on until I got my footing back. A little scary for sure! Ripped both pant legs & got a couple of scraped knees but I'm fine. I remember saying to him at least twice to "please don't let me fall" & he assured me he wouldn't. My hero!!!! It would have been a rough, bumpy ride down on my belly for sure. With a few bushes thrown in too!
After gathering plenty of pretty rocks we moved on to two other areas. I was especially interested in seeing the 'Soldier's Grave' we'd been told about. We located it without too much difficulty & wandered around the area for another 30 minutes or so before finally heading back to the ranch.
I could hardly wait to take a long, hot shower to not only get off a layer of dirt but ease a few aching, sore muscles. Sure felt good!
Tomorrow we plan to head to the Gila Cliff Dwellings. We understand they are in a lovely area & it's a great drive as well as an interesting destination. So, we'll see you down the road & hopefully Larry will be feeling well enough to come along too!
