Attempted to rain off and on last night and overcast and cold (again!). Not looking good but we did some planning for the rest of our trip this morning and by lunch the weather had started to clear. We decided to take a drive along 'The Great Ocean Drive'. This took us out past the very large 'pink lake' which perhaps due to cloud cover/time of day was more blue/white than pink. Certainly nowhere near as pink (purple) as some lakes we have seen in other parts of the state. The drive then took us back towards the coast and the wind farm which we had a look at (some nice views). The weather continued to improve with the cloud disappearing and the sun shining.....what a change after the last 8 or so days. The beaches were absolutely amazing!!!!!! The brilliant blue and aqua green of the water, the white caps of the waves and the brilliant white of the sand- beautiful. We stopped in at most of the beaches - 10 mile, 9 mile, twilight beach, Salmon, Blue Haven. So many and all very different from each other. We then drove up to Rotary Lookout which had spectacular views of the town, the beaches and the many, many islands off the coast. We then took a drive along the Esplanade into town and did some shopping for supplies before coming back to the caravan park late in the afternoon. If the weather tomorrow is as good as this afternoon, we will continue our exploration of the coast....cant wait.
