Jerry and Sam were up early this morning, they had to be in Newport, Oregon at 7 AM for their fishing trip. They went out deep sea fishing with the “Reel Deep Sea Fishing Company” of Newport for a five-hour trip. The cost was about ninety dollars each, including the license. They had a great trip, the weather was perfect. They caught about 30 pounds of fish total, after filleting.
We are cooking Sam’s Ling Cod for dinner tonight, we also have a freezer full of fresh fish for the future. It doesn't get any better than that. :-) They were wishing they had paid for the crab license too, everyone on the boat caught a lot of crabs and fish. Sam was blessed with the largest fish on the boat, how cool is that? I am also adding pictures from Vickie and Sam’s horseback riding on the beach and a few more places we have visited including the Heceta Lighthouse. Jerry, Vickie, and Sam climbed to the top of the hill for a close-up view of this one. We are all having a great time exploring the area and hope you enjoy the pictures. Check back later for more from Oregon.
