We had another great day in Washington. We visited the Feiro Marine Life Center. It is located at the City Pier on the waterfront in the heart of downtown Port Angeles with fantastic views of the inner harbor and the Olympic Mountains.
There are hundreds of inter-tidal creatures, fishes, aquatic plant life, and many "dry" displays to enjoy. The most popular tank is the unique horse-shoe shaped Touch Tank. I got a lot of pictures of kids enjoying touching all the creatures in this tank. I did not partake. :-) I did enjoy seeing these awesome creatures, from a distance. They even had sea snakes in the tanks. :-) The price to see all the marine life was FREE, they do ask for a donation. We were more than happy to give a donation to this fine educational center.
My favorite was the almost life sized reproductions of the birds. We see so many ducks and sea type birds in Sequim Bay daily. I have been trying to figure out the names, many of the ones I have seen were featured in the center. (See photos)
If you are in the area, we highly recommend a visit to the Feiro Marine Life Center as well as the awesome City Pier. We are going to miss this area. We will be heading to Idaho at the end of the month. We will be exploring much of Idaho and parts of Montana. Our oldest grandson -Jared - will be meeting us in Montana for spring break for a week. We can't wait to go fishing with him in the Salmon River and catch the big one. :-)
