|Saturday was Larry's birthday & our niece Cindy's birthday was on the 3rd so we did a joint birthday celebration on Saturday. Bonnie prepared one of their favorite meals, homemade chicken & noodles & of course we enjoyed cake & ice cream afterward.
Grandson Ryan & his girlfriend Emily arrived from Oregon on Friday evening so they were able to join us & we met Emily for the first time. A sweet, cute girl & Ryan seems quite devoted to her. They will be living here for the next four years as Ryan will be starting dental school here at UNLV in the fall. Looking forward to spending some time with him while we're in the area. Our son Jim, Ryan's dad, arrives next weekend from Alaska for a week. He attends an annual event at the convention center every year so we get to spend every evening with Jim & Paula as they stay here at Bonnie & Larry's home every year. We love it!
After several nights on our new mattress I'm glad to say we really like it. It seemed a bit firm for me the first couple of nights but I think that's because I was so used to the old, softer, saggier one! Which was killing me, lol. Now if I could just find a comfortable pillow! I bought the one that is being advertised on TV "MY Pillow'...Bonnie has three of them & loves them...Me, not so much! Hurts my ear & is too lofty. Grhhhhhh, what I wouldn't give for a great night sleep :(
Can't believe how quickly our time here is flying by. We've accomplished a lot but still have several appointments to wrap up before months end. Larry will get an annual physical at the VA as well as blood work etc but we expect that to all be routine. He sure is in good health for an 'old guy'!!! Guess all those supplements he takes are paying off.
I need new glasses but will get them in Mexico next month. We'll be heading to Arizona the first week in February & then will head into New Mexico which is where I'll cross the border. I've purchased nice, affordable glasses there in the past but it's time for a new prescription.
Well, that's about it for now. I need to head to the grocery store, it's my night to cook. You probably know that Bonnie & I pretty much trade off every other night for cooking dinner. It's one of the best parts of wintering here every year!!! We both love it. Of course we enjoy our Hand & Foot game most evenings as well. We girls are prevailing again this year. At least so far :)
