Moving Right Along With Daisy 2017 travel blog

This morning I was up early so I could meet Mikail at the Lone Star RV Resort to help him get the clubroom ready for our campout. We put up some Valentine decorations. Much to our chagrin, the refrigerator and freezer and some functions of the stove were not working. The park manager brought us some large ice chests and told us we can take all the ice we needed at no charge. We had to make sure we closed the oven door with a hasp to keep it from opening while in use!

Before dinner Mikail conducted four Bingo games. I won three of them! I offered to forego the third prize but everyone insisted that I take it since I had won “fair and square.”

There were twenty attendees this time, including two visitors. We hope they will join our club. Three members had birthdays this month but they all were absent, so the birthday cake didn’t sport any candles. We celebrated anyway.

Mikail conducted four more Bingo games this afternoon after our business meeting. I didn’t win any of them this time.

Instead of going out to eat tonight as we usually do, we had dinner catered by Romano’s Macaroni Grill. For only $12.00 we had chicken parmesan, eggplant parmesan, orzo with sun-dried tomatoes, angel hair spaghetti with meat sauce, roasted veggies, penne rustica and Caesar salad. Yum!!

After dinner we saw the video, “Greater Tuna”. It is a very funny comedy about Texas' third smallest town. The citizens of the town are portrayed by only two performers. The original stars, Joe Sears and Jaston Williams, performed “Greater Tuna” for over a year Off-Broadway at Circle in the Square Theatre starting in 1982. This led to the HBO Special produced by Norman Lear.

Several people left the campout this afternoon because of the stormy weather predicted for Sunday. They didn’t want to be driving home in heavy winds and rain. I can’t say that I blame them.

STATS RV Park: Austin Lone Star Carefree RV Resort, 7009 S I-35, Austin

Park Conditions: Gated park, friendly and helpful staff and work campers, very nice clubroom (poor acoustics, however), industrial type kitchen which needs major renovations
