This morning I attended the first Bach Cantata of the season at the Blanton Museum of Art with Inge Rider, Virginia Staats, Vera Eckard and Emma Brisbin. The program was “Tönet, ihr Pauken! Erschallet, Trompeten, BWV 214” (Sound, you drums! Ring out, you trumpets!). The featured art was “Musical Party in a Garden” by Giovanni Battista Passeri, 1640s, oil on canvas. We had lunch at the Blanton Café. It was good to be back in the swing of things after the summer.
Good news! The junky trailer next door moved out today. Yeah!! It was an old, neglected, dirty Airstream. It’s too bad because Airstream makes high-quality trailers. I don’t think it had ever been washed. My new neighbor, Stevie, was my next-door neighbor at Mobile Manor until 2006, when I started traveling. He is a nice fellow and has a nice trailer.
