|It was an easy travel day today from Alamo to Henderson/Las Vegas, NV with temps around 60 and pretty blue skies. Traffic was light as we made our way on US 93 & continued to stay light after merging onto I-15. We were looking forward to an early arrival, wanting to get set up & relax before dinner.
The plan was to exit on Cheyenne Blvd & get the truck & 5'er washed at the Blue Beacon truck wash. We've used them in the past & it's always been a 30 minute in & out deal. This time there were 6 trucks in line in front of us & only one wash bay open. We decided to go for it anyway, as the rig had plenty of dirt & bugs on the front cap from many hundreds of miles traveled in the past few months. Little did we know that we would be in line 1 1/2 hours before they got to us!!!!! Arghhhh, not exactly what we were looking forward too :) There were large boulders on either side of the 'wait lane' so once in it, you are committed. Sort of like the chicken & the egg I think, lol! They did eventually open a second lane but it still took quite awhile to move forward. I suppose that should have made us realize they were doing a good job on each vehicle & made us happy that it would soon be our turn for such complete devotion to our vehicles. I have to admit though that this was not the feelings I was experiencing. Perhaps because I was starving & looking forward to lunch? Which we eventually had while waiting in line by the way!!!
Anyway, they did a great job & the price was terrific, $39 for both units. Can't beat that & it saves us a ton of hard work & achy joints! And the best part, we arrived safely & got completely set up by dark. And Bonnie had a terrific spaghetti dinner with sides & lemon meringue pie prepared for our travel day....Yayyyy! And no cooking to boot :) Life is good, we are happy to be in warmer weather & are looking forward to settling in for the holiday's with family & friends. Time to break out the decorations, buy & wrap a few gifts & start baking :)
