Christa From Switzerland At Bagan Airport

MONDAY, APRIL 24, 2006. BAGAN, MYANMAR. I've finished two full days in Bagan, home to several thousand (mostly) Buddhist temples. Bagan rivals Ankor Wat in Cambodia in terms of scale and scope of its temples. One could spend months or even years here and not see every temple. It's extremely hot during the day (high 30s, low 40s Centigrade). I've been riding a rented bike and it's been quite exhausting. After almost two weeks here doing the big four (Yangon, Inle Lake, Mandalay, Bagan), I've decided to return to Bangkok and head to my next yet-to-be-determined destination. Originally, my plans were to fly to China, but I'm thinking that I may go to the Maldives for some diving, and then perhaps Bali. I will research both places upon my return to Bangkok and make a decision then.

Due to the extremely slow Internet connections in Myanmar, I will not be posting any photos from here until I return to Bangkok on Tuesday (Apr. 25).
