|Dinner last night was great. Shrimp cocktail, Pina Colada Soup, Caesar salad, Prime Rib, and dessert.
We started to the stage show but decided to go back to the cabin.
We opened the door to the balcony and listened to the sound of the waves sliding past the ship.
I Did not sleep well but we were up at 7:00 and dressed for the day.
After a quick breakfast at the morning buffet we joined the crowd waiting for the call to board the tender which was to transport us to the port from the ship. We anchored off shore because of the shallow water near the shore of this volcanic island.
We met two of the couples who are part of our dinner group and pretty much stuck together all day.
It was one of those “Wow” days as we admired the scenery of Santorini, Greece.
On the island we boarded a bus which took us all around the island.
Our first stop was at the little village of Oia, with its whitewashed houses and dark blue trim on the doors, windows and roofs. This is the town you see pictured in all of the advertising for Santorini and it is one beautiful place.
We toured a winery and purchased a couple bottles of wine, after the tasting.
We then visited the best restaurant on Santorini for a lunch which consisted of numerous courses, including traditional Greek food. Several in the group had not eaten lamb before today but all agreed that it was delicious.
There was a black sand beech where we stopped and Marilyn collected a couple of rocks to take home. Sigh……….
We rode a cable car down the mountain to the port for the tender back to the ship waiting patiently off shore. We rode on the top deck, sitting in the open air and visiting with a nice couple from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
Marilyn took lots of pictures and I can’t wait to post them for you.
For now though, that will have to wait until we are back home.
Time to get a little rest before a shower, clean clothing, and then off to dinner and then a show.
Life is Good!
