We have arrived and safely!!!! More pics to come, thanks for stopping...

Not much chatter today, just the final pics of our travel day from Fallon to Ely along Hwy 50, better known as the 'Loneliest Road in America'. We didn't encounter much traffic along the entire 5 hour trip & most of the time our Verizon service was non-existent, so it can be a bit intimidating at times. Of course when we get closer to a town service comes in for a bit. However, after having several mobile plans, we know without a doubt that Verizon provides the best service, at least in the areas of the country that we travel most.

I believe we had 5 total summits during our trip, most if not all of them 6,000+ ft so quite a pull for our rig. Especially in Austin! Whew, I always breathe a sigh of relief when we arrive at the summit & then again when we're back down on level ground. But of course, then there' Eureka & then the final pull into Ely. I think we're considering upgrading to a heavier duty truck in the spring. Our's is a 2006 & it's been a great truck, and still is, but we'd like to get a newer model & go up in size, Ford of course! So, if you hear about a Lariat, Super Duty 350 or larger please let us know.

It is snowing slightly as I write this, such a bummer. We need to spend a couple of days sorting through our storage bins & I was hoping for warmer than 36 degree temps to do it!!! On the plus side, the weatherman is predicting we'll have days back in the 60's by midweek. Boy do I hope he is right :)
