|After a quick stop for last hugs & kisses with the girls we got under way around noon on Wednesday. Noon you say, lol? Even later than normal for sure. It was pouring when we woke and we weren't in any hurry to break camp during and we were only going to travel to Medford, about 3 hours away. Vehicles can actually make it a bit quicker than that but 199 is a narrow, windy road and when it's wet it's a tough go. It continued to rain all the way to town so we made one quick stop in Cave Junction & then moved on.
Son Don has been telling us about the Taylor Sausage Store for sometime so we decided to pick up a few things this time through. Didn't have much room in the freezer so we had to be very picky so we left with veal steaks, beer brats, potato sausages, bacon etc etc...I'll let you know what we think later. If you are traveling through Cave Junction it is a very popular place to stop for meat.
We arrived in Medford around 4:30 and got settled in at the Wal-Mart after getting permission from the store. There were tow signs everywhere, but the manager explained to us that it's not their policy, but the city's police department policy about unauthorized vehicles being towed. I guess they sometimes get squatters who like to stay as long as a month at a time. And party with loud noise at all hours as well! What the heck????
After doing a bit of shopping we walked next door to pick up a few needed items from Costco as this will be the last time we'll visit one for the next couple of months. I do miss Costco for certain items and they are not just everywhere. We seem to find more Sam's Clubs in the parts of the country we visit most.
Tomorrow we'll cross the state line into California as we make our way south & east. I hope the weather improves as we really don't like pulling in the rain. I believe we've decided to spend 2 nights at Eagle Lake, so we'll see you on down the road...
