When we escaped out powerless apartment, we headed downtown to the Art Institute. The subway stop close to Wrigley Field was handicapped accessible, so Jeff was able to ride up in the elevator. They were very helpful on the subway with the wheelchair in both directions.
We had gone to the Art Institute back in 2002 when Adam first moved to Chicago and had not been back since. One of the exhibits that we loved the most was the miniature rooms that are evidently part of the permanent exhibits.

We missed seeing all the wonderful impressionists that we remembered because the Institute was being remodeled. (We were later able to catch them at the Kimbell Museum in Ft Worth where they were on tour during the remodel.)
It was a beautiful summer day

On our way home, we stopped and took this picture of Harry Carey's statue in front of Wrigley Field
