This morning I took some things to the Next to New consignment shop. Then I checked out the things for sale and went away with a nice (apparently never worn) white Alfred Dunner jacket with appliquéd blue squares on front, a red and white striped top and a pair of gold-toned earrings with garnet stones.
The next purchase – a big one – was at Sew Much More. They were having a sale on sewing machines and, since I have been thinking for a long of buying another machine, I decided to check them out. I got a Baby Lock “Grace” which is fairly compact. It has 40 built-in stitches, including five one-step buttonholes. It can be operated without the foot pedal by pushing a button – a good feature for small spaces such as mine. I asked the sales lady if she could give me any “goodies” and she gave me a box of 18 spools of Madeira rayon viscose filament threads, used mainly for decorating cloth items (price marked on back 49.99!). She also gave me a 15% discount on sewing accessories (needles, bobbins and even a machine tote bag). The purchase includes two years’ free service, unlimited lessons as long as I own the machine and a one-year membership in the Sewing Club.
After a quick stop at CVS, I decided it was time for me to head home before I spent any more money!
After my epidural injection yesterday, I’m feeling much better and can stand up longer without much pain.
