Saturday, July 23. Delphi, Greece; Kardamyli. Delphi (del-fee) is considered one of the most spiritual places of all ancient Greek sites. Delphi, a UN World Heritage-listed site, is situated on the slopes of Mount Parnassos, overlooking the Gulf of Corinth. According to Greek mythology, this was the center of the world where Zeus released two eagles at opposite ends of the world and they met here. Delphi is also home of the Delphic Oracle. During the 4th Century BC, pilgrims came to ask advice from the oracle, who was believed to speak for Apollo. The main attractions are the Sanctuary of Apollo, the Sanctuary of Athena, the theatre, the stadium, and the museum. The stadium is the best preserved in all of Greece.
