October 29, 2012 – Emporia, Kansas
This morning they came to get the car to mount the new base plate on it. I took the coach in later for the new hitch. The base plate should have taken them about 2 hours to install. Instead it took nearly 4 hours. It seems that not only was it mounted crooked, it was welded to the frame of the car which is a no-no as it often causes electrical problems such as it interferes with the computer, the electronic fuel pump, etc. Luckily, none of that happened to me, but it took them a long time to get the plate off because they had to be careful not to damage the frame of the car. When they finally got that done it took only a few minutes to put the new hitch on the coach.
I got back to the park by about 2. Patsy called shortly after that to say she was leaving KC. She got here about 4. We visited for a while and then went to supper. She decided not to try to go on to Stillwater tonight. She had taken Connie to Iowa because her Dad was having surgery for a large mass in his intestine. The surgery was today, but Connie hadn’t called to let her know how the surgery went.
We called it an early night as Patsy was tired and so was I because I hadn’t slept well last night.
